THE LOSS OF MY SISTER
With a heavy heart, I'm writing to let you know that my sister, Sharon Vernette Merrell passed away August 07, 2007. She was 51. She had been battling bone marrow cancer and put up a strong fight, however she had a major brain hemorrhage and past away.
My sister Sharon was the rock of our family. Her nickname, Sunshine, was more than fitting for she lifted up everyone around her and shined in our lives.
Thank you for all your prayers. Please continue to hold the family up, especially her husband, Kenneth. They were married for 30 years and his devastation is beyond words.

DOS NEGROS FIRST TRACK POSTED ON MYSPACE
Dos Negros is a project started by Kenny Merrell and Jon while hanging out together. Two musicians wanting to take a musical journey. Ignoring making music in a cookie cutting way. The two wanted to stretch out and create something interesting.
The love of drums, bass and melody inspired Ken and Jon to create their own sound. Before the first completed track Kenny past away. Jon continues the project in Kenny's honor and dedicates all his work to him.
Check this link for the newest song "Unta"!

MY NEPHEW KENNY "SPIKE" MERRELL PASSED AWAY
It is with great regret that I inform you that my nephew Kenneth Wayne Merrell II passed away of lung complications on Monday, March 27, 2006 at UCLA hospital due to lung complications.
He was in the hospital for nearly 3 months prior and was discharged to go home. After a week of what seemed to be a strong recovery, his lung collapsed and he was taken to the Emergency Room. He was then transferred to UCLA and before being admitted he passed Monday, March 27, 2006.
Please keep his family in prayer. Kenny was 27 years old and he leaves behind a wife, two daughters and a son.
Thanks to everyone who was and is still praying for the family. We greatly appreciate it and believe that God taking Kenny home was part of his perfect plan.
